Scheduling & Coordination SoftwareStatus: [Concept / Research]

Honeycomb

A smart scheduling app built for shift workers to coordinate availability across multiple employers without calendar conflicts.

System Context

Honeycomb re-imagines workforce coordination by putting the worker at the center, replacing single-employer scheduling silos with an intelligent, multi-entity availability ecosystem.

[ The Problem ]

Scheduling software assumes you only have one job. Modern shift and gig workers manage multiple employers at once, leading to constant double-booking, messy group texts, and lost shifts.

[ The Solution ]

I designed a mobile-first app that automatically checks a worker's personal calendar across multiple jobs, flags scheduling conflicts, and lets them safely swap shifts without exposing their personal schedule to managers.

Execution Pipeline Flow

01Shift Schedule Reading
02Double-Booking Checks
03Anonymized Availability Update
04Manager Dashboard Sync
05Earnings Calculator Update

Core Modules & Systems Built

Multi-calendar conflict matching engine

Real-time shift-swap approval system

Privacy-first calendar availability masking

Dynamic earnings forecasting dashboard

Location-aware travel delay tracking

Technical Obstacles & Fixes

  • [#1]Ensuring competing managers can never see details about where else a worker is employed.
  • [#2]Calculating calendar collision states efficiently across multiple asynchronous timezones.
  • [#3]Keeping data processing light so the mobile application doesn't drain the device's battery.
